Hello everybody! If there is one thing I love it is video requests, and this one has been requested alot recently, therefore I bring you the pros and cons of stainless steel straws vs glass straws. There are a ton of reusable options when it comes to straws, one of which does not include the plastic kind, or paper. Go for the long term solutions instead of single-use. Go for glass or stainless steel, or even flax or bamboo. All are amazing alternatives and a great way to start making less trash. One drink at a time.

Your comparison between the glass and stainless steel straws was helpful! Thanks!
ps – you might have already found it by now, but in case you haven’t, this site has a smoothie-style stainless steel straw!

Lisa 🙂
Such a comprehensive review! And really helped me move towards stainless steel as my preferred alternative. Even though glass has a lightness and something approaching a luxe stylishness about it, I simply can’t go past the long term durability of stainless steel.
I also like steel because it is actually cheaper and not having to worry about it cracking or smashing means I’m not anxious about a silly old straw. Sounds funny, but last thing I need is to be fussing around looking after a straw when I have so many other things to focus on!
Grateful,
Bren
I’m kind of paranoid that glass straws may accidentally break while in my cup, and I’ll end up drinking glass bits. Any thoughts on the durability of glass straws?
I have never experienced anything of the sort. If you drop it on the floor it can break, but generally, that glass is quite thick and strong, and won’t break simply from being your cup – so don’t worry. However, if you’re very uncomfortable with the thought of glass, you can look into steel, bamboo etc instead 🙂
