Deo & Sunscreen Review // vegan and zero waste beauty

Hello everybody! I have recently been gifted a great beauty box from the Danish shop Natural Living, which contained a variety of vegan and plastic-free beauty products, that I thought I would share with you. I’ve tried a lot of products over the years, most of which you can find reviews for, so if you are on the lookout for a vegan and plastic-free sunscreen for instance, then you’ll have some options to choose from, just based on these reviews. This is the second sunscreen I am testing out and hopefully, this will make sustainable living a little bit easier for you.

This box contained a sunscreen, a washcloth, hair ties, a deodorant, a salt cleanser, and a shaving soap. The shaving soap is a great addition to a minimalism shaving routine, I was my safety razor and soap and that’s it. Having a great shaving soap prevents your blade from going blunt too fast, so in many ways, it is really handy. Both soaps came in a cardboard wrapping, no plastic.

Most solid and plastic-free deodorants I have seen contain beeswax, so I was delighted to find out that this one did not. I have used solid deodorants before, and salt crystals as well. Normally, actually, I don’t wear any deodorant at all, but if I am going out for a longer period of time I can be nice to wear a little and it makes be feel a bit better in big crowds (insecurity gurl). This one is great, it is not too oily and really gets the job done, plus it smells amazing.

I did not know it was possible to be excited about sunscreen, but it is though. It’s plastic-free easily recyclable, reef safe and vegan. What. What. I really like the smell of it as well. It does leave the skin slightly white-tinted at first and you can, of course, feel that you are wearing sunscreen. But Jens and I wore it to Pride and sun was on us all day long and none of us burned. I would call that a win, we are both quite pale.

The shop also has plastic-free hair ties, which I find quite practical, if you’re looking to buy new hair ties, might as well make them sustainable right? Normal hair ties contain plastic and cannot be recycled, but these contain natural rubber and can, therefore, be recycled! The shaving soap and the salt cleaner have also been rather handy. I do enjoy a naked soap option, no packaging, no fuss. But I also have not had a proper shaving soap in ages. The salt cleaner has been really good for my skin, especially doing the hotter days where my skin is very oily. I can definitely recommend! Find all the products here.

This post was made in collaboration with Natural Living, however, all accounts and opinions expressed are completely and honestly my own. Love y’all.
